Much like The Three Stooges and Arrested Development had their own uniquely honed comedic styles, YouTube seems to be developing its own specific flavor of user-submitted comedy. In most cases, the common denominator is "so strange that I have to laugh." For me, the laughter often seems to increase with each viewing.
So without further ado, if you haven't seen it already (and more than one million people already have), here is the latest YouTube nonsense. Actually, it's difficult to tell if this was supposed to be YouTube nonsense or if it was intended to be something serious. Either way, it's a song performed by someone named Tay Zonday, whose singing voice is something to behold. You'll see. Warning: This song will be stuck in your head for the next few days. If the problem persists, consult your physician. Or your therapist.
I've never watched it in its entirety--there's just no need to. Now that you get the gist of it, here are some of the "video responses." This particular YouTube feature reveals the fact that far too many of us have far too much time on our hands.
